For The Norwegian Cellulose Laboratory
The infrastructure represents completely new research possibilities
The infrastructure represents new research possibilities, allowing for internationally leading research on new, innovative production, characterization and applications for cellulosic building blocks. The infrastructure will allow for simulating and testing of production methods, advanced characterization and development of cellulose applications in laboratory and pilot scale. The laboratory is accessible for national universities, research partners and industries, as well as international stakeholders.
There will be a charge for training and assistance.
In addition to training on the instrument all NORCELlab members must have one hour of HSE training before renting equipment. The training is carried out in collaboration with one of our engineers and is then billed as an assignment. In order to apply for membership in NORCELlab, you must accept this. Please contact us before applying if you have any questions regarding this.
Industries representing as different areas as biomass processing, oil production, production of foodstuff, paint and adhesives, composites, medicine and medical devices will benefit from the competence in NORCELlab

NORCELlab is owned by RISE PFI
The laboratory will comprise three categories of infrastructure, all located in the same building (Høgskoleringen 6b, Trondheim): i) production and processing of micro- and nanocelluloses, ii) production of micro- / nanocellulose-based materials and structures and iii) characterization of micro- /
nanocelluloses and structures made thereof.
